Based on latest data, the number of people aged 100 and above in the UK has grown by 100% from 8,300 in 2004 to 16,600 in 2024.
From 2004 and 2024, the figure of male centenarians has increased threefold from 910 to 3,100. Over the same years, the number of female individuals reaching 100 increased by nearly 100% from 7,400 to 13,600.
We are excited to listen to those aged 100 or over, their relatives or companions, about what it has been like to experience the past century’s major happenings and changes.
